From 6 March, route 1, 2, 5 and 10 tram course will be changed at the intersection of 11. novembra krastmala and 13. janvāra iela
Due to intensive track and overpass construction works, route 1, 2, 5 and 10 tram course will be changed at the intersection of 11. novembra krastmala and 13. janvāra iela from 6 March, diverting tram traffic along the Central Market. During the construction works, the stop “13. janvāra iela” will also be closed in both directions. This will allow construction work to proceed more smoothly.
Route 1 tram
From the terminal “Imanta” , the tram will run along the route to the stop “Grēcinieku iela”, then along 11. novembra krastmala, Maskavas iela, Centrāltirgus iela, Prāgas iela, 13, janvāra iela, Radio iela and continue along the route. In the direction from the terminal “Imanta” , the stop “13.janvāra iela” (on 13. janvāra iela) is closed, trams will stop at the stop “Prāgas iela” (on Centrāltirgus iela) on the bypass.
From the terminal “Jugla” , the tram will run along the route to the stop “Stacijas laukums”, then along Radio iela, 13. janvāra iela, Prāgas iela, Centrāltirgus iela, Maskavas iela, 11. novembra krastmala and continue along the route. In the direction from the terminal “Jugla”, the stop “13.janvāra iela” (on 13. janvāra iela) is closed, trams will stop at the stop “Centrāltirgus” (on Centrāltirgus iela) on the bypass.

Route 2 tram
From the terminal “Tapešu iela”, the tram will run along the route to the stop “Grēcinieku iela” , then along 11. novembra krastmala, Maskavas iela, Centrāltirgus iela, Prāgas iela, 13, janvāra iela, Aspazijas bulvāris, K. Barona iela, Radio iela and to the terminal “Stacijas laukums”. In the direction from the terminal “Tapešu iela”, the stop “13.janvāra iela” (on 13. janvāra iela) is closed, trams will stop at the stop “Prāgas iela” (on Centrāltirgus iela) and “Stacijas laukums” (on Radio iela) on the bypass.
From the terminal “Stacijas laukums”, the tram will run along the streets: Radio iela, 13. janvāra iela, Prāgas iela, Centrāltirgus iela, Maskavas iela, 11. novembra krastmala and continue along the route.
The departures from the terminal “3. depo” to the terminal “Stacijas laukums” will run to the stop "Centrāltirgus" (on Maskavas iela), then along Maskavas iela, Centrāltirgus iela, Prāgas iela, 13, janvāra iela, Aspazijas bulvāris, K. Barona iela, Radio iela and to the terminal “Stacijas laukums”.
The departures from the terminal “Stacijas laukums” to the terminal “3. depo” the tram will run along the streets: Radio iela, 13. janvāra iela, Prāgas iela, Centrāltirgus iela, Maskavas iela to the terminal “3. depo”.
The route has been renamed “Stacijas laukums – Tapešu iela” for the duration of the construction works.

From the terminal “Mīlgrāvis” , the tram will run along the route to the stop “Nacionālā opera”, then along Aspazijas bulvāris, 13. janvāra iela, Prāgas iela, Centrāltirgus iela, Maskavas iela, 11. novembra krastmala and continue along the route. In the direction from the terminal “Mīlgrāvis”, the stop “13.janvāra iela” (on 13. janvāra iela) is closed, trams will stop at the stop “Centrāltirgus” (on Centrāltirgus iela) on the bypass.
From the terminal “Iļģuciems” , the tram will run along the route to the stop “Grēcinieku iela”, then along 11. novembra krastmala, Maskavas iela, Centrāltirgus iela, Prāgas iela, 13, janvāra iela, Aspazijas bulvāris and continue along the route. In the direction from the terminal “Iļģuciems” , the stop “13.janvāra iela” (on 13. janvāra iela) is closed, trams will stop at the stop “Prāgas iela” (on Centrāltirgus iela) on the bypass.
From the terminal “3. depo” to the terminal “Mīlgrāvis”, the tram will run along the route to the stop “Centrāltirgus” (on Maskavas iela), then along Maskavas iela, Centrāltirgus iela, Prāgas iela, 13, janvāra iela, Aspazijas bulvāris and continue along the route.
The departures from the terminal “Iļģuciems” to the terminal “3. depo” will run until the stop “Grēcinieku iela”, then along 11. novembra krastmala, Maskavas iela to the terminal “3. depo”.

Barona iela, Radio iela and to the terminal “Stacijas laukums”. The construction works at the intersection of 11. novembra krastmala and 13. janvāra iela are co-financed by the European Union Cohesion Fund within the framework of Project No. 4.5.1.1/22/I/001 "Adaptation of Riga Tram Infrastructure to Low Floor Tram Parameters" (hereinafter–- the Project). In addition to the reconstruction of the intersection, the Project also plans to adapt the infrastructure of tram line Route No. 7 in the section from Centrāltirgus iela to the terminus "Ķengarags" and the infrastructure of tram line Route No. 5 in the section from the intersection of Jūrmalas gatve and Slokas iela to the terminus "Ilģuciems" to the low floor tram parameters. The Project also includes the renewal of four substations and the construction of one substation, all equipped with electrical equipment to ensure adequate power supply for the low floor tram operation. The total cost of the Project is estimated at EUR 55.2 million, while the Cohesion Fund co-financing amounts to 85% of the eligible costs, i.e. EUR 38.78 million.
